Cameraless animation on 35mm clear film and stop motion bolex footage, silentCARS! draws from an obsession with drawing cars mounting up to over 600 hand painted on 35mm film surface. Reflecting on the contrasts between graphical symbols and colour which are muddied through pollution and dirt in urban environments, the film moves through fast paced movements as a reflection on the rush of crowded urban areas. The film draws inspiration from the mechanics of vechicles, traffic lights, road lines and lots of colourful cars!
